Additional Information

Mazda has agreed to resolve a class action lawsuit alleging that certain of its vehicles were equipped with defective fuel pumps manufactured by Denso. The lawsuit claims that these faulty fuel pumps may lead to stalling or engine failure, increasing safety risks and leading to unexpected repairs.

Denso supplies parts to many automakers, and several manufacturers have recalled vehicles due to similar issues. Although Mazda and Denso deny liability, they agreed to settle the case to avoid further litigation.

Under the Terms of the Settlement

Eligible Mazda owners may receive:

  • An extended warranty covering new replacement fuel pump kits for 15 years or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first (applies to Recalled Vehicles).

  • Warranty coverage for Additional Vehicles not formally recalled but still using similar Denso fuel pumps.

  • Reimbursement for out-of-pocket fuel pump repairs, provided the owner sought but was denied warranty coverage from a Mazda dealership prior to the repair.

  • Towing and loaner car assistance for vehicles experiencing fuel pump issues that render them inoperable or unsafe to drive.

Class members must submit a valid claim by June 2, 2025, to receive any reimbursement or compensation.

This settlement helps provide long-term support to Mazda owners facing safety and performance issues tied to defective fuel components.
